The Music Within
Mohan’s artistic soul took root at the age of 10 with the tabla, trained by D.N. Mujumdar, disciple of Ustad Jahangir Khan Sahab of the Indore Gharana.
In 1996, the flute entered his life—and since then, he has dedicated himself to its mastery under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Kumar Bhatt of Dehradun. He has completed his Sangeet Prabhakar in Hindustani Classical Music.
His musical journey is deeply enriched by his association with Swarangan Society, founded by Pt. Rajnish Misra Ji, where he has shared platforms with maestros such as:
- Padma Bhushan Pt. Rajan-Sajan Misra
- Ustad Amjad Ali Khan
- Pt. Niladri Kumar
- Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia
- Pt. Birju Maharaj
- Girija Devi Ji
He frequently performs at corporate events and town halls and teaches the flute on weekends, continuing the guru-shishya tradition with humility and pride.
The Writer’s Voice
Mohan’s blog, Dastan-E-Sahil, is a poetic journal of emotions. Through pieces like “चुप्पी” and “मैंने लिखा था प्रेम”, he explores silence, love, and the spaces in between the spoken and unspoken.
His poems are quiet, powerful reflections that often mirror the same depth and nuance found in his music.
A Life in Balance
Whether it's leading a high-stakes training program or composing a new melody on the bansuri, Mohan lives his life with balance, discipline, and grace.
He is a rare example of someone who has not compromised one dream for another. Instead, he has embraced all facets of his being—creating a life that resonates with melody, meaning, and momentum.
Mohan Godbole is not just a professional. Not just a musician. Not just a poet.
He is a living symphony, constantly evolving, creating, and inspiring.
